OSTENIL® PLUS is a single- injection treatment of hyaluronic acid to provide lasting pain relief for those suffering with pain from osteoarthritis.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a gel-like substance naturally occurring in the human body. It helps to lubricate the joints. Therefore OSTENIL® PLUS provides lubrication and cushioning, enabling smoother joint movement. This typically lasts up to 6-9 months.

You will not be suitable for these injections if you have any of the following: Uncontrolled diabetes, an allergy to steroids or anesthetics, a total or partial joint replacement in the joint you wish to have injected, an overlying joint infection or you have had an injection into the same joint within the last 3 months

A corticosteroid (or ‘cortisone’) is an anti-inflammatory medicine, which can be injected directly into the tissues or structures that are causing your symptoms

Our Doctor can combine Ostenil Plus and Corticosteroid treatments for a greater effect. He will advise you if this is something which may benefit you.
The doctor will sometimes advise a course of treatment with both drugs for maximum effect.
