Physiotherapy

Our Physiotherapists

Our physiotherapists are experts in movement and function who work in partnership with their patients, assisting them to overcome movement disorders, which may have been present from birth, acquired through accident or injury, or are the result of ageing or life changing events, (APA).

Physiotherapy can help you recover from injury, reduce pain and stiffness, and increase mobility. A physiotherapist can also help you prevent further injury by listening to your needs and working with you to plan the most appropriate treatment for your condition, including setting goals and treatment outcomes.

Our therapists all specialise in hands-on treatment along with exercise prescription, carefully tailored to your current abilities. Where appropriate our physiotherapists will use treatment modalities such as shockwave therapy and various forms of electrotherapy.

We treat children and teenagers through to elderly. For young children and teenagers we can treat bone and muscle conditions including knee pain, back pain, sports related injuries, growing pains or postural problems.

What sort of treatments do physiotherapists use?

Physiotherapists are trained to assess your condition, diagnose the problem and help you understand what’s wrong. Your treatment plan will take into account your lifestyle, activities and general health.

Here are some common treatment modalities that your physiotherapist may use:

  • Individually tailored exercise programmes
  • Joint manipulation and mobilisations
  • Muscle re-education
  • Soft tissue massage
  • Acupuncture
  • Taping
  • Ultrasound/Interferential

Physiotherapy sessions

Consultations will take 30 minutes depending on your condition. During your initial assessment your physiotherapist will assess and diagnose your condition, as well as discuss your specific goals. All of this will be based on a combination of questions and physical examination. We aim to also start treatment on our first session, as long as this is deemed appropriate.

Cost of Physiotherapy

Please see our price list page for an outline of our services, treatment times and costs. We do offer a 10% sports club discount. Please ask about this with reception. We accept cash, cheque and credit/debit cards.
