Sarah Willis - Running Injury Specialist

Running Injuries

At PhysioNeeds Nottingham Sports Injury Clinic we have seen a lot of running injuries over the years so all our Physiotherpist’s and Sports Therapists are well equipped to treat running injuries. One of our Physiotherapist’s has a keen interest in treating running injuries, as she runs a lot herself, so she is classed as our running injury specialist. She has run countless half marathons, and 4 full marathons including Paris, New York and London, with her most recent being London 2023!

This is what Sarah has to say about running injuries and why it’s her specialism:

“I have a special interest in running injuries. As a keen runner myself, I am a big believer that regular running is not only a great way to maintain cardiovascular fitness, but also great for boosting your mental health. Having sustained several injuries in the process, I can therefore relate to athletes injured in the lead up to the event they have been training for.”

Gait Analysis

We also have a high tech Gait Analysis service at PhysioNeeds so depending on your results Sarah can create a personalised strength and conditioning programme and specific training plans. The exercises she prescribes will not only help protect you against injury, but also make you a stronger, faster and a more efficient runner. If you require any manual treatment she can also perform these treatments in order to maximise your running potential. She can also give you advice on how to prevent future injuries based on her own personal experience as a Physiotherapist and a keen runner.
